Refernet has been making great progress with across the UK, where large cities or counties are using a single Refernet system across all their CABs – sometimes involving up to x10 Citizens Advice Bureaux.
Not only does this make the system highly attractive on a ‘per CAB’ cost, but it means the network can be closely connected by referral activity – and this is good for funding bids too.
The service allows each CAB to access global agencies (that all in the network can access), but also add its own unique local agencies that only they can access. Refernet MD Steve Wheele says “We believe this model opens up access to Refernet at a lower cost, and indeed we have seen a rapid increase in our CAB user-group since its launch.
