What is Refernet?

A safe, secure and local online referral management system used by Councils, local Citizens Advice teams, Charities, Legal and Money advice services, Health care, Crisis and Resilience Funding, Social Prescribing and more across the UK, for early intervention and to improve referral pathways which has been proven to pay for itself.

Refernet enables referrals to be made securely between Advice Agencies and their partners, across their town, city or region. Refernet is GDPR compliant and reports on activity and outcomes.

At Refernet we want the smallest of charities to be able to use Refernet, as well as the national organisations we work with.

Our pricing is therefore based just as much on what you can afford as it is on the coverage you need, and how you plan to make use of the system.

Regions & Cities

As well as our core user group who use Refernet in towns and Cities, we now have groups of Citizens Advice using Refernet to join referral activity together across whole boroughs and counties. They are running a single Refernet system to give them connectivity, flexibility and cost savings within their regions, making Refernet cheaper (per CA) with system coverage across larger populations. These networks are often using the Regional functionality as well, to give greater operational flexibility and reporting.

We now have Greater Manchester, West Lancashire, and all of Wales using this model, with several more large regions on the way.

National networks

Refernet also caters for organisations who need to create a national network. Additional functionality allows for zoning where required, so that agencies can be grouped. Reporting by zone and the ability to make agencies only visible within certain zones is also possible, and even on an agency by agency basis.

Refernet supported the recent Citizens Advice Luton launch event for the Luton Crisis Advice and Support Project, funded by the Big Lottery Help Through Crisis Fund – a five year strategic partnership with Luton Foodbank and the Law Centre that’s designed to help local residents in hardship to help themselves.
